Maß für Maß
theatre production
While this Shakespeare piece tackles topics like social classes and red light districts, nobles and their vices, director Joachim Gottfried Goller presents it in a different light by setting it in Vienna of the 1980s, under the light of gay subculture and AIDS crisis.
The synth-heavy music creates an opressive mood between fatalism and eroticism.
A Different Place
concept album

Emerging out of Lockdown months, these 13 tracks, musical hybrids of orchestral & electronic sounds, are made to take you to a different place. While the titles can give hints about the background story, each track is open for interpretation. Everyone can fill the music with his own experiences and emotions. The album can take you far away, or deep inside your own mind - or is it just the same?
 rubato
1st place competition "Konzerthaus München"

In the heart of Munich, Bavaria the new Concert House will combine
stunning, modern architecture and an open-minded philosophy to bring classical, world and jazz music to the people, especially (but not only) targeting a yonger audience.
This analogue animation by Julia Soost with music by myself has been chosen as an advert clip to be shown on websites, in cinemas, and many more to build excitement and fascination for this huge project.
Die Herrmannsschlacht
theatre production

This production under the direction of Joachim Gottfried Goller has taken Heinrich von Kleist's historical war drama and made it into a modern spectacle, that breaks with all the rules and contradicts itself in the best possible ways. From trumpet fanfares and operatic singing, to pop songs, to electronic surround soundscapes , the music complements this firework of stilistic diversity.
Wurzeln Schlagen | taking root
contemporary classical work

Out of a seed grows a variety of structures that organize themselves into a diverse whole.
Inspite of this evolutionary process the primitivity of its heritage is embraced in an omnipresent matter.

Requiem for a Drink
hand-drawn animationon

This short film gives the ancient tale of "Narciss and Echo" a modern, artistic tale. It thematizes the loneliness of the faceless protagonist, losing himself in the crowd of people and finally finding himself inside of his empty glass.
Haus am See | house on the lake
architecture showreel

With this track I helped the architect Jurek Brüggen showcasing this beautiful house he designed. The music supports the seperation and  highlighting of the different sub-areas present in the video and the building. Like the architecture, the music is created to appear both modern and kind of raw/environmental.
Der Abschiebebescheid | the deportation order
1st place "Baden-Baden Award"

The director Georg Eder did a great job handling this difficult theme both with a portion of humour, but also a very thinkworthy aftertaste; all of that in just about 3:40 minutes.
The music provides subtle accents, evolving from rather empty and dragging waiting music to a melancholic conclusion with sarcastic elements.
Der Traffikant | The Tobacconist
finalist "Vienna Film Music Award 2019"

This scene is the emotional conclusion of protagonist Franz Huchel's journey set during the rise of Nazis in Austria. After the death of tobacconist Otto Trsnjek, who gave Franz shelter in his little shop, he says farewell one last time with an act of dangerous bravery. We also see last pictures of his remaining closest ones: Anezka, his true love, as well as his concerned mother. His fate remains unclear.

I tried to bind these 5 minutes together in a way that makes the scene work without the remaining two hours of the film. Instead of focussing on the (obviously) evil Nazis or other distractions, I layed the focus on Franz:
A young man, who cares about nothing but the relationships to those close to him. He may seem thoughtless, but only has good intentions in his heart. The always moving and driving melodic and harmonic lines drift apart like Franz and his mysterious lover, and in the end stand still in a bitonal, unresolved manner; just like the fate of Franz.
Gravitation | gravitation
contemporary classical work

Structures arise and fall back down again. The instruments enter in conversation and disputation, but eventually get drawn into a growing area of sound.
After coming together in harmony and peace, the emotional intensity of their interaction creates a fatal point of gravitation that assembles everything around itself.
In the end, a single tone remains.
defragmentation of a composer's mind
finalist "Serj Tankian's 7 Note Challenge"

A lose idea, floating around in the mind of a composer... Let's run it through machines, cut it in a thousand pieces and put it back together- just to blow it up again. This early work of mine has made it to the final 100 tracks out of thousands of submissions.
